Steve West
Steve West holds two Master's degrees in Astrophysics: one from the University of Canterbury (New Zealand) and the other from Leiden University (the Netherlands). He has authored four peer-reviewed scientific publications, together with several conference proceedings.
His doctoral research at Leiden University focused on the morphology of the Milky Way, based on what was, at the time, the most comprehensive survey of neutral hydrogen in our Galaxy. Although he did not complete the Ph.D., he subsequently undertook postgraduate studies in International Law at Leiden University, completing more than two-thirds of the programme requirements.
Earlier in his academic career, Steve was a member of the American Mathematical Society and received an invitation to contribute to its Committee on Technology in Mathematical Education.
He is a former Cambridge Oral Examiner and holds the CELTA® qualification awarded by Cambridge University Press & Assessment. He previously served as an IELTS® examiner for the British Council, assessing the Reading and Listening components of the examination.
He also provided academic consulting in English language and academic writing at IPADE Business School.
For more than 20 years, Steve has worked as an independent instructor, preparing candidates for the GMAT® and GRE® and helping them develop the analytical, quantitative, and verbal reasoning skills required for competitive performance on standardised admissions tests.
His teaching follows a structured and well-established programme, while one-to-one sessions allow individual reinforcement and progression at a pace appropriate to each candidate.
He also has extensive experience teaching English as a Second Language to professionals within the Mexican business community.
Today, Steve works independently as a specialist GMAT® and GRE® instructor, delivering personalised online instruction to candidates worldwide.
